I am so excited. We are having a family get together tonight and I will get to see everyone. I am in Amarillo visiting for a week or so. All though bitter sweet it will be nice to see everyone, however we will still be missing one, my DAD. He will be with us though, in our hearts.
I am so grateful that I am able to come to visit family just about anytime I want. I wish Chad was able to go all the time too but I guess one of us needs to work. Thankyou sweets!!! I love you very much!!!
Well my grandmother just came in the door so I'm going to go visit with her.

Diabetic Training and Pump Therapy
Last week I went to Dallas for a 1 on 1 class for diabetes. It was very informative. I go once a month and really learn alot about diabetes and controlling my blood sugar. I have been put on a low fiber and low fat diet and it seems to be helping with my blood sugar. High fiber and high fat slow down the stomach and cause your food to not get emptied out of your stomach. I have been on an insulin pump for 3 1/2 years now and love it. Before the pump I was having to take 7-10 shots of insulin a day, and my blood sugar was still out of control. The insulin pump delivers a small amount of insulin every hour keeping your blood sugar at a base line instead of having it peak and then drop. My doctor had been trying to get me to go on the pump for several years and I kept saying "NO". I didn't want something else to have to keep up with. After getting on it I liked the convenience of it and soon fell in love with the pump. I'm on a Medtronic Minimed but I think when its time to get another one I will be getting a different one. I like the Medtronic but it is just a little bit to big for my liking. I have been looking into Amimas Ping, plus with Amimas I could get a pink one. I still love pink. LOL My blood sugar is good now and I haven't had many high blood sugars or many low blood sugars. Thank you Regina for my diabetic training!!

Communication
Isn't it crazy how people communicate now days. People are so disconnected with life and so connected to their cell phones, and I have to say I have been apart of these people at times. Remember back in the day when people didn't have cell phones. Remember when a cordless house phone was a big deal. Now many people don't even have house phones, they only have a cell phone(s). So many people today only text to talk to others. Really? That is crazy! You can't hear the tone of voice the person you are texting. How do you really know how they feel. You don't! I have fallen victim to the texting thing too. I want to tell one of my best friends, Nicole Palacios, how sorry I am that I haven't stayed in touch. We use to have so much fun together and talked everyday, several times a day. LOL I have to admit that I have only been texting her lately and don't really know how she is doing. I know everyone is busy but it only takes a few minutes of the day to call and visit with a friend or family member. You never know your phone call may make their day!

Coming to a Close!!!
As the "summer" is coming to a close, well not really the heat but with school and other things starting back up I plan to do some new things. I'm wanting to learn how to use my new camera better. By that I'm going to take some classes at Arlington Camera and go on the World Wide Photo Walk, which I am really excited about. It is October 1 so I hope that it will be cool enough for me to be able to walk around for 3 hours. I am also reading a book about digital photography. This is our first really nice digital camera and I get nervous using it because I don't want to mess things up. Hopefully the classes and books will help.
The next thing I plan on doing is learning to sew better. I got a sewing machine a few years ago for Christmas and I made one quilt on it, but that's all the work my machine has had. My first project is going to be an apron for myself. We'll see how that turns out.
I would also love to do a blog makeover. I want to start blogging more too. Even though I'm not a good writer I love to put my thoughts down. I think it is very therapeutic. I would love to have a blog that I could load pictures on using my new camera. I just kind of created this one because it was easy. I really would like to show my fur children, my projects I make on my sewing machine, and some of the stuff I cook. LOL
Cooking more is my next goal. I would love to try new recipes. I'm still pretty hesitant on trying something totally new that no one that I know has tried. I made some peachy bread pudding the other day and it was good, very rich though. We could only eat a little bit at a time.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!

Annual Transplant Appointment
To all of my followers, I'm sorry I haven't blogged in a long time. I am going to get better about it. Well back in April I had my annual transplant appointment and had everything checked out and I am doing great. It usually takes all day for the appointment because there are so many tests that I have to do. As I was sitting there waiting to be called back I started thinking about my dad and how much time (over my life) that he had spent waiting in the hospitals and at doctors appointments with me. He was one dedicated dad. I miss him so very much everyday. Anyway everything at my appointment went well and my pulmonary function test was up a little. Every little bit helps. I had a little bit of a scare though. I went to the dermatologist for my annual exam and he had removed a few places that he thought he needed to send off for testing. Well a few days went by and he called and said I was going to have to see a plastic surgeon because one of the places removed was skin cancer. I scheduled the appointment and the afternoon before I was scheduled to see the plastic surgeon, to have more of my skin around the area removed, the nurse calls and says they had got the pathology report messed up and I do not have to see the plastic surgeon. It was just a wart. Thank you Jesus is all I could think because the place that was removed was right by my left eye on my nose and there isn't much skin right there. It was kind of scary. The lord is always taking care of me even if sometimes I wonder where he is. He always has a plan!!!
