I just wanted to reflect on how blessed I am. Chad IS the most awesome man!!! When I first met Chad we both worked at Westgate Mall in Amarillo. He worked at Lids and I worked at Express (which were right beside each other). Anyway we met and started dating. I didn't want to tell him that I had cystic fibrosis because I was afraid he would run the other way. One of my ex's had told me that I would never find anyone that would put up with me being sick. So I was hesitant to tell him. I finally told him one day and told him that my life expectancy wasn't that great and he told me that it didn't matter to him if doctors had told me that I had 6 days or 6 months to live that he wanted them to be the best days of my life. Soon after (2 weeks)starting to date I had to go in the hospital for pneumonia. Chad was already scheduled to be off for his vacation for a week. He came up to the hospital and stayed up there on a cot and only left the hospital to go home and shower and change clothes. After we were together for 2 months my doctors said that I needed to have a lung transplant and that I would have to move to Dallas. A year and a half later the doctor said it was time for me to move to the DFW area so I could be close. Chad found a job down in Fort Worth and we moved down here. He has been through so much with me and I don't know what I would do without him. He could have turned and ran the other way but he didn't. He stayed right here with me through everything!!! He is the best guy a girl could ever have!!! I am so THANKFUL for him!!!
That is fantastic Holly! This made me smile (and cry). I would say you are lucky to have him, but he is also lucky to have YOU! You are amazing, always have been! I really enjoy your blogs :)
ReplyDeleteI knew you two have been through a lot together, but Chad never told me all of this... What a sweet story! Thanks for sharing!
