Nightmare

I had a nightmare last night.  Well, maybe it wasn't a nightmare to most but it was to me.  Are y'all ready for it...I got in a tanning bed and burned to a crisp.  I have to admit I use to love the tanning bed and the sun and aways having a good tan.  I use to get in the tanning bed starting in about March and tan just once a week until the weather got warm enough to lay out in the sun.  I would rub tanning oil all over my body and my burned skin would turn into a nice tan.  Man, am I regretting that now.  Since I've had my lung transplant and with all the anti-rejection drugs I have had several skin cancers removed.  Nothing to serious but several of them have been on my face and on my arms and hands.  They were just small places but still it is very scary.  Now I'm fine with being snow white.  I am also glad that more people are turning towards spray tanning.  If you want to be tan I think that is the way to go.  I do use some tanning lotion sometimes in the summer if I have a wedding to go to or something.  It's called Mohave Magic and I get it on QVC.  It kind of has a smell to it but it's not that bad and you do have to wait 15 minutes before putting on any clothes.  It does have a shimmer to it but I think it looks very good and doesn't leave you orange.

Well, I hope you all have had a wonderful Thursday.  Tonight Chad and I are going to start watching the first season of Boardwalk Empire.

Writers Block

I've been having some writers block lately.  I always feel like I don't have anything that my readers would want to hear about.  I am really trying hard to blog more.  One of my favorite bloggers, Ree Drummond, says you need to treat a blog like a plant.  If you water it everyday it will grow.  If you water it every few days, months, or years it will die.  I'm also having trouble finding topics that my readers will enjoy and come back to read more.  Ree Drummond also says "to thank your readers and thank them often."  So Thank You for reading my blog even if some days you think, what is she writing about.

Beautiful Day

Today it is absolutely beautiful outside.  My dogs and I went and sat outside and enjoyed the cool breeze.

They love to go outside, and me go with them.  Presley wants to just come right back in if I don't with them.  She likes to show me how high she can jump up the tree.

Stella Belle always wants to chase Taffy and Presley around the yard.

I love my fur kids.  I love doing stuff that makes them happy just like a parent would for a human kid.

I love the fact that it usually only gets really cold in December and January.  Of course I say that now and it will probably get cold sooner.

Reading Blogs

I love blogging and also reading others' blogs.  I think that blogging is a great way to keep up with peoples lives that you don't get to talk to often.  I also think that it is a good way for people to get their feelings out there.   People often put controversial subjects on their blogs and it always leaves me thinking.  I haven't been brave enough to put any controversial topics on my blog yet, maybe some day.

I have been getting this magazine that I love and it has all kinds of blogs to read about any subject you could imagine.  The magazine is called "Artful Blogging."  My mom actually bought me my first issue of it a few years ago.  It is published quarterly and is very good.

I'm still working on getting my blog changed.  I'm having trouble deciding what all I want to have.  Thanks for being patient!!!

Changes

Everything changes, including my blog.  I'm still in the process of changing it though but it will still be a few weeks.  For those of you that are reading this thanks for following me,  and then for those of you who are reading this thinking, "She needs a writing lesson", I'm sorry.  I didn't claim to be a good writer but I'm trying.  Maybe the more I write I will get better.  I always have so much to say and thoughts are going through my mind a hundred miles a minute.  I am also going to rename my blog.
We also bought a new camera about a year ago and I'm going to start putting pictures on my blog, even if they are just pictures of my fur kids.

On another note, the weather is changing and it is getting cooler, which means it will be much easier to breathe.  I also love the changing in the leaves.  It is so beautiful.

What's been going on here

I haven't posted anything in over a year.  Sorry about that for those of you that actually look at my blog.  I've had alot going on just in the past 6 months.  First of all, my brother, Charlie passed away in April due to rejection from his lung transplant.  He also had a lung transplant in September 2010 due to cystic fibrosis.  I had many mixed emotions about him passing away.  I started blaming myself for him having the transplant in the first place.  Thinking that he would not have had the transplant without me convincing him to have it, but that wasn't the case at all.  He was on continuous oxygen and his portable tank only lasting 4 hours before having to be refilled.  It was just very hard for me to deal with his loss.  Then I felt like I wasn't there for my mom because I was an emotional mess.  I couldn't imagine losing one of your children.  You know "footprints in the sand" plaques, I totally felt like there was only one set of footprints in the sand because I knew that the Lord was carrying me.
On a lighter note, I have finally found a new blog layout and I am currently working on it.  So it should be up before to long.  Thanks to all of you who have continually prayed for me and my family.  We couldn't have got through any of this without the prayers.
